The Underhill Overdale Issue 1: Rat, Car, Dog
I'm starting a microlocal newsletter!
Inspired by the success of Brooklyn neighborhood newsletters like:
The Grand Army Gazette
The Cobble Hill Courier
The Court Street Journal
The Bed-Stuy Stoop
The Dekalb Dispatch
The Gowanus Canoe
The Boerum Bulletin
The BoCoCa CoMoSha (commotion)
The Bay Ridge Ray Bridge
The Rockaway Walk A Ray (down the Ray Bridge)
The Downtown Brooklyn Chow Town Hooked In
Süddeutsche Zeitung
I’ve decided to start my very own, about the goings-on on my particular block of fair Underhill Ave, where we lay our scene!
In this issue: A rat was spotted running away. A car was spotted going up the street. And a Dog was spotted, being walked by its caretaker.
A Rat was Spotted Running Away
Earlier this week, local residents spotted a rat running away. Many said that it “turned tail” like “a yellow-bellied blaggard.” This reporter cannot confirm, as the rat ran away while I was at work.
A Car was Seen Going up the Street
A rare sight in these parts, but a car went up the street on Tuesday. Local fixture Gorf Helgerberg was heard remarking “car going up. on a Tuesday.”
A Dog was Walked
Wonder if I’ll somehow get the newsletter out by noon today. Seven minutes left. Nabeel’s still gotta look at this thing and write his little note, sighing and shaking his head.
Nabeel’s Footnote
What’s the lowest word count we could send out? Would anyone give a shit
