I Have Nothing For You
Just being honest
I’ll be honest here: it’s the day after a major holiday, and I have nothing for all of you. This actually isn’t very different from most of the weeks I write this, when I have slightly more than nothing for you. There truly is just nothing going on up here.
Normally, one would be concerned about a precipitous fall in creativity for one’s newsletter corresponding with a general waning interest in said newsletter. Normally. This week, I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw the subscriber count drop off a bit. I get it—I’m not giving you much to go on. And if we stop being friends because of it? I get that, too.
Here’s an observation on this Black Friday: seems to me there’s a general renaissance online for Creed’s “Higher.” Maybe because of this video:
Or a reappraisal of Creed’s halftime show from 22 years ago to the day:
I dig it. Scott Stapp’s voice is one that doesn’t seem to exist anymore. Creed fucks. So does Evanescence. And this song, and Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me,” and 3 Doors Down, and Shinedown, I guess—and Puddle of Mudd? Do people like Trapt? Sure. More love for all of these white boys with crazy ass voices….
Another banger in the books, my friends. I’ve freaked it once more. Tell your friends about this newsletter!!!
I hope you guys enjoyed eating Türkiye
